What age does my child need to be to do Bowling or Glo-Golf?

We feel that Bowling and Glo-Golf would be more enjoyable and beneficial for children aged 5 and above. We provide push rails if needed to aid the younger generation if required.

However, there is no age restriction to take part in any of the activities.

Under 12’s must be supervised by an adult at all times.

12 – 17-year-olds are allowed to take part in activities in the venue without adult supervision during the day time.

After 7pm 12-15 year olds must have adult supervision.

After 9pm 16-17 year olds must have adult supervision.

Can I book activities in advance?

We recommend that Activities are booked in advance to avoid disappointment. This can be done through our website or by giving us a call on 01264 568192.

The pool table, amusements and diner are not bookable in advance.

Is there a discount for carers?

Yes, carers go free with a paying concession; they must be able to show proof of either carer status or disability at check-in.

Carers MUST be added as an attendee to the booking, which can be done by email or telephone, if they wish to take part in the activity.

Is there a dress code for Riverside Bowl?

There is no set dress code however, we ask that you dress appropriately for your activity.

The centres bowling shoes are only to be used if the customer does not have suitable shoes to bowl in i.e. open toed shoes, high heeled shoes or heavily soiled shoes.

What happens if I am late for my booking?

If you are running late for your booking, we encourage you to call in advance so that it can be rescheduled.  All bookings have an end time and starting late could mean that you will not fully finish your activity before this time.

Are there discounts for large groups?

Groups of over 20 people may be entitled to a discount, depending on time of booking.

Are we allowed food and drink at the bowling lane?

Yes, however food & drink from outside the venue is not permitted, however we welcome those celebrating their birthday or a special occasion to bring a cake.

Please note: food and drinks cannot be consumed in our Glo-Golf area for health and safety reasons.

How many people can bowl on one lane?

Each lane can run at a maximum of 6 people. Groups of more than 6 will be automatically allocated multiple lanes.

How long is a game of bowling?

A game of bowling takes approximately 10 minutes per person. So if four people were bowling, it would typically last 40 minutes.

How long does the golf take?

Glo Golf is booked out in t-off slots, but the course will take you around 25-30 minutes to complete the 9 holes.

Can I bring my own Darts for the AR Dart Boards?

Dart hire is included with every booking; however, you are welcome to bring your own darts if you prefer. They must have steel tips to be magnetised.

Do you have wheelchair access?

Yes there is a lift at the entrance, and a portable ramp for area’s within the venue. Please ensure to check the homepage of the website for lift updates.

I have never been Bowling before do you have any hints and tips on how to bowl?

How to hold the bowling ball is key.  If you are holding it for the first time the holes are the spots where your fingers are placed.  You walk, aim and roll the bowling ball at the pins, do not cross the line or it will be a foul. Try not to drop the ball.
