Riverside Bowl FAQs & Tips

What age does my child need to be to do Bowling or Glo-Golf?

We feel that Bowling and Glo-Golf would be more enjoyable and beneficial for children aged 5 and above. We provide push rails if needed to aid the younger generation if required.

Are there age restrictions for the venue?

Under 12’s must be supervised by an adult at all times.

12 – 17 year olds are allowed to take part in activities in the venue without adult supervision during the day time.

After 7pm 12-15 year olds must have adult supervision.

After 9pm 16-17 year olds must have adult supervision.

Can I book activities in advance?

Activities must be booked in advance to avoid disappointment. This can be done through our website or by giving us a call on 01264 568192.

The Pool table, Amusements and Diner are not bookable in advance.

Is there a dress code for Riverside Bowl?

There is no set dress code however, we ask that you dress appropriately for your activity.

The Centres Bowling Shoes are only to be used if the customer does not have suitable shoes to bowl in i.e. Open toed shoes, High heeled shoes or Heavily soiled shoes.

Are there discounts for large groups?

Due to Covid-19 and the Government Guidance, we’re not currently able to provide Group Bookings or Birthday Parties. We’re continuing to better understand how we can introduce this in the near future. If you’re interested in booking one of the following:

Please fill out the form here, and a member of staff will get back to you as soon as possible.

Until further notice, food will be unavailable at our American Diner. We have limited seating available if you wish to bring food in from outside the facility.

Please note: Food cannot be eaten on the lanes, or in the Glo-Golf area.

Drinks can still be purchased on site. We will not be allowing drinks to be brought in.

How many people can bowl on one lane?

Each lane can run at a maximum of 6 people. In normal operation 4 lanes will be used. If due to customer demand or breakdowns we can use all 8 lanes

How long is a game of bowling?

A game of bowling takes approximately 15 minutes per person. So if four people were bowling, it would typically last about an hour.

Do you have wheelchair access?

Yes there is a lift at the entrance, and a portable ramp for area’s within the venue.

What are your opening hours?

Due to Covid-19 and the significant impact it has had on our facility we’ve had to make changes to our operating hours. Click here to find out more!

I have never been Bowling before do you have any hints and tips on how to bowl?

How to hold the bowling ball is key.  If you are holding it for the first time the holes are the spots where your fingers are placed.  You walk, aim and roll the bowling ball at the pins, do not cross the line or it will be a foul. Try not to drop the ball.

If you have any other questions please contact us.
